Mega Post...

This post is HUGE. You have been warned! If I fall so behind again, I deserve some kind of punishment... Death by cookies perhaps?
Simba...Kinda by request...
Life Drawing... Not from life though. Because I miss Life Drawing so much I could cry.
Bird Tree. This was actually a really cute piece of fabric that I stumbled on and reinterpreted. :)
Swallow, the search for the perfect tattoo design marches on...
Peter Rabbit, because I love me some Beatrix Potter.
Hair thingy...
Icecream, as requested by Isabella.
Giraffe weird babyish cartoony style.
Love is... Naked children... Who knew?
Bella, terrible portrait.
Foetal.

Up! Because Bella has her first film obsession... The start make me cry Every. Single. Time.

Weird hair drawing. Just because.
Autumn Tree... I actually cut out a heap of trees and leaves for the playgroup kids for craft, then we didn't use them. Maybe this week...
Icecream! ('Ray in Paris'- Lucy Culliton). Bella's absolute favourite piece from last year's Archibald Prize Exhibition.
Crown. Don't you think this would look really cute on a t shirt? Blatantly inspired by a little white long sleeved Bardot tee of Bella's (but it just has a bow... lol).
Vault Boy from Fallout... Because my sister started it, and I'm a geek at heart. :)
Burtonesque Spiral thingy... Hey, I said I'd draw, I never said they'd be good... lol I'm not sharing the drawing from the 30th yet, so here is today's drawing:
Naw, baby heffalump. And with that, I am DONE! Yay!

BIG POST! (You have been warned)

Okay, I fell behind with my uploading, so here is the month of April so far.
I must say, editing is far easier like this, but uploading takes waaaay longer. I can't say it won't happen again, because it might. I was feeling rather unwell, then I was feeling just as lazy. Here they are, hope you like them!

Psychadelic peacock feather. Just because.

Rudie Nudie!
By Emma Quay, Bella loves this library book so much, I may need to buy her a copy!)

"Neezing!"
Felt like that's all I did that day. Bella gets very concerned: "Okay? Okay?". It's a wee bit cute!

Animals in the style of Jo Joof.
Bella has a book of these, which matches the quilt her Great-Gran made her. She's such a lucky girl. :)

Harry the Dirty Dog.
I loved this book as a child. And now I think I'll have to track down a copy for my daughter. :)

Rose.
Because on those days where I just can't be bothered, or don't know what to do, I fall back on things which come easily.

Owls.
These were a birthday present from last year... I love them. I got another set this year, that need to find a home. I shall have to find them one. :)

The Walrus and The Carpenter.
I can't remember whose illustration style I stole... Google will know.

Detail

The Very Hungry Caterpillar.
Because I'm totally jealous of my little baby cousin's cloth version of the book (Easter yesterday, he comes prepared despite not even being six months old yet... lol). It is freaking adorable!

Self portrait

31-03-2012
'Self Portrait'
Last day of March, last prompt. Drawing number 91. I look sleepy, with dishevelled hair. Whatever works.
I've fallen behind with posting these to Deviant Art... But I've also read the first two of the Hunger Games book in the last three days. I'm sure that has nothing to do with it.

Birthday

Today's prompt was 'Black and White', so my drawing is indeed in black and white (like most of them), but that was a little beside the point today.
It's my birthday, so as a present to myself, I've drawn one of my favourite paintings ever, Marc Chagall's 'The Birthday'.
I love it. And I quite like how this turned out. I think I'll keep this one, and frame it.

Detail.

So this is how I started my birthday:

Pancakes with bacon, blueberries, banana, mascapone, and maple syrup, courtesy of my lovely husband.
We've had afternoon tea with his Mum, brother, Nanna, and cousin this afternoon on the deck. Chicken Paella tonight (soooo yummy!).
And if I don't blog tomorrow, it's because I've fallen into some sweet heavenly coma after gorging myself on the Devil's Own Cupcakes...

28 Salted Caramel Mocha Cupcakes (recipe from the delectable blog Bakingdom. sorry if this doesn't lead you into temptation, more like pushes you headlong... lol).
Oh well, Happy Birthday to me!

Ālīs volat propriīs

Today's prompt: 'Something small'
So we have a little bird (one of my little darling's favourite songs at the moment is 'Little Bird' by ELizabeth Mitchell).
I drew a bird becaue at some point my sister and I will get our matching tattoos finished and we'd like to incorporate a bird (so I keep drawing birds, as does she, and we'll find one we love eventually). I think we'll drop the latin now, as it would kind of clash with the Greek we already have... :)

Normally the second photo is a detail shot... Today you get a scale shot instead.

Pear shaped

Today's prompt 'Fruit'.
Had I looked ahead I might not have drawn that fruit basket earlier this month... lol
I like it better this way anyway.
This one was a very relaxing half hour or so. I very much enjoyed it.

The return of red.

Today's prompt: 'Something red'- So I present My awesome toaster (in a really crappy drawing along with some mugs and my scales...)!
Only a few days of prompts left, then I'll go back to aimless scribbling for a while. :)

And because my dodgey drawing tody did my awesome toaster no justice:

Kindness...

26-03-2012
Today's prompt: 'Your view'.
I interpreted this one fairly loosely...

The quote is one of many I like on the subject. And there are many. The one my daughter hears most often (because she loves it) is from The Help
You are kind
You are smart
You are important

So far it's true, my hope is it stays that way.

This is actually my second drawing of the day, the first I finished colouring and posted off to a stranger as a gift. Kind of inspired today's post I think.

Getting around.

Today's prompt: Transportation.
So I present... My feet (they are used far more frequentlky than the car or my bike).
If this were a more accurate depiction of their usual state, they'd be bare, but I allow myself artistic licence, so gladiators won out. :)

I saw red...

Today's prompt was favourite colour.
My 2.5 loved this, both the prep for it and the drawing itself. She's a bit fascinated by the whole thing. :)
She kept toucing my lipsa and then staring at her fingers and saying "Ooooooh reeeeeed!".
She cracks me up.
