BIG POST! (You have been warned)
Okay, I fell behind with my uploading, so here is the month of April so far.
I must say, editing is far easier like this, but uploading takes waaaay longer. I can't say it won't happen again, because it might. I was feeling rather unwell, then I was feeling just as lazy. Here they are, hope you like them!
Psychadelic peacock feather. Just because.

Rudie Nudie!
By Emma Quay, Bella loves this library book so much, I may need to buy her a copy!)

"Neezing!"
Felt like that's all I did that day. Bella gets very concerned: "Okay? Okay?". It's a wee bit cute!

Animals in the style of Jo Joof.
Bella has a book of these, which matches the quilt her Great-Gran made her. She's such a lucky girl. :)

Harry the Dirty Dog.
I loved this book as a child. And now I think I'll have to track down a copy for my daughter. :)

Rose.
Because on those days where I just can't be bothered, or don't know what to do, I fall back on things which come easily.

Owls.
These were a birthday present from last year... I love them. I got another set this year, that need to find a home. I shall have to find them one. :)

The Walrus and The Carpenter.
I can't remember whose illustration style I stole... Google will know.

Detail

The Very Hungry Caterpillar.
Because I'm totally jealous of my little baby cousin's cloth version of the book (Easter yesterday, he comes prepared despite not even being six months old yet... lol). It is freaking adorable!

Kindness...

Today's prompt: 'Your view'.
I interpreted this one fairly loosely...
The quote is one of many I like on the subject. And there are many. The one my daughter hears most often (because she loves it) is from The Help
So far it's true, my hope is it stays that way.

This is actually my second drawing of the day, the first I finished colouring and posted off to a stranger as a gift. Kind of inspired today's post I think.

You are kind
You are smart
You are important

Hand made
Today's prompt is "Something you made".
So here is the little red dress I made for Bella for her first birthday (it was a bit too big. Oops!).
This was very quick and sketchy, and I'm not a fan, but it will do.
I did draw yesterday too, but decided not to share it just yet. Maybe later.

Original image.

The day before Bella's 2nd birthday, it still fit (as a shirt).

Working it...
Today's prompt was work...
So here is a semi self portrait as a 50's style houswife, complete with overcooked dinner, annoying call from telemarketer, toddler failed to be amused by iPad, scattered toys and shoes, all whilst charmingly wearing half of dinner on her shirt.
This just about sums it up some days. lol

Innocence
Today's prompt was innocence.
We spent some of the afternoon at the library (always a popular choice).
It was so hard to choose what to draw today, but in the end I drew something that I think gets it pretty right.
But first, here's my monkey girl at the library.

Smiley!

One of the many faces I get pulled at the camera...

Kicking back.

Aah! This is the life!
My girl.

Detail.

As usual click to see a larger image and more detail.

My Happiness
06-03-2012
Today's prompt was Happiness... I almost drew a warm gun for my husband the Beatles fan, but decided on something a little sweeter instead.
I messed up my darling girl's face, but that is less than surprising. Drawing her is far too hard, I'm almost never happy with the result (I actually am today, despite the flaws).

I was sitting on the lounge with my book and pencil trying to figure out what I wanted to draw today.
My little angel came and stood beside me and started 'reading' one of her Doctor Suess books very quietly (we'd been shopping, cycling and we played in the park, so she was a bit sedate). I spent another few moments wracking my brain and then noticed how quiet and still she was being and laid down the pencil lines as fast as I could before she moved!
No sooner did I have a decent outline than she decided it was time to toilet. I filled out the sketch in pen while my husband took care of our girl. The whole thing took less than 25 minutes.
I love it! :)

My Baby Bella Ballerina.
Total honesty here, I did not get this done before midnight! For the first time.
It was a busy day around here, morning tea with the playgroup mums and bubs, the weekly shop, crawling into bed with a massive headache, you know, all the fun stuff!
With a husband who works nights, I tend to be a night owl myself, so I'm going to justify it by saying that if it gets done before I go to bed, it still counts.
Plus I was sick.
And the dog ate my first one... Ok, so that last bit is a fabrication, but the rest isn't.
This is the third time I've drawn my daughter in this little mission of mine. The 1st (just her feet and bottom), the 17th (very little portrait in the bird's thought bubble) and today.
I'm actually kind of reticent at the thought of doing a full on portrait of her.
I look at my girl, and she is so beautiful, and so perfect (in my eyes anyway). How could I possibly do her justice? Or at least not screw it up terribly...
So here she is, my tiny dancer.
